BRIEF
This design, created during my 2019 summer internship for SPO, was for Goddard’s booth at the 2019 National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit in Nashville, TN. The theme of the booth was “Spinoffs through the Decades” to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Goddard.
PROCESS
I started this project with researching Goddard spinoff technologies from the past few decades. I drafted content and made lists of possible technologies to put in the booth graphic. Then, I began sketching possible layout ideas. Upon approval, I started to craft all the the assets for the exhibit.
I made a blueprint background because blueprints are evergreen representations of the design process. No matter what decade one talks about, designers, engineers, and innovators rely on blueprints to present and ideate their ideas. I utilized real technical renderings to represent the design process needed for developing new Goddard spinoff technologies.
These renderings include diagrams from patents, drawings of NASA spacecraft (including Hubble, New Horizons, and James Webb Space Telescope). I found most of these renderings from NASA's official image library.
